In Spring 2001, a group of RMCLT homeowners, with little-to-no experience in the stock market, started an investment club.  Since then, we have built a portfolio of over $8,000 which includes stock in 11 various companies and one energy fund!

We meet once a month at the Land Trust office, often having snacks and beverages while socializing and discussing financial opportunities.  Every member is expected to put $20 per month in the club, which we invest based on a group decision.  Led by a professional, knowledgeable financial advisor, we discuss much more than investing such as retirement accounts, the economy, foreign markets, government policy, and credit cards.  It’s a wonderful way to learn about money while earning it at the same time!

If you are new to investing and don’t have the money to spend hiring a financial advisor, one of the smartest moves you can make is to join an investment club!
