WHAT:    The Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust 14^th Annual Celebration and Fundraiser  “Home on the Range”

WHERE:  Gates Common Room at Palmer Hall, Colorado College  (1025 N. Cascade Ave. )

WHEN:    October 28, 2010 from 4 pm- 8 pm

WHY:      The Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust has only one fundraiser per year, and all proceeds go to support our mission and build a strong community… one home… one neighborhood at a time!

HOW Many Volunteers:
Volunteer assistance is always needed on the Annual Event Committee.  To find out the details of the next committee meeting, please call Randi at (719) 447-9300 ext. 5.

5 Volunteers are needed the week of the event to help the RMCLT office work out the final details, process paperwork, and re-check the final details!

10 Volunteers are needed the day of the event to help set up, decorate, and work on the last minute details.

10 Volunteers are needed the night of the event to assist guests, monitor silent auction tables, and collect items.

Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust is pleased to be invited by Colorado Springs Housing and Building Association to participate in the 2010 Parade of Homes being held August 6-22.   The Parade of Homes is a great way to tour beautiful homes from our area’s best builders.  The homes showcase high quality and innovative construction and landscape design, home furnishings, the latest home technology, and related home improvement items.

RMCLT hopes to show our community how affordable housing should look.  The American Dream, located at 7774 Crestone Peak Trail on the northeast corner of Woodmen Rd. and Powers Blvd., features many maintenance free and energy saving products.

The Parade of Homes will be open every day August 6-22 from 11 am– 7 pm.

We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

¨      Realtors

I need one Realtor in the house all hours of the Parade.  We will be explaining the commission structure at the Parade Info Class held July 28.  (see class info below)

¨      Lenders

I am looking for the 5 RMCLT Partner Lenders to set up an info booth in the garage Monday-Thursday evenings and all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the Parade.  Again, volunteer time will be split up evenly among the 5 lenders.

¨      Hosts/Hostesses

I need one host/hostess to staff the home Monday through Thursday and 3 hosts/hostesses for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the Parade.  These hosts/hostesses need to be outgoing and passionate about the Land Trust.  Board members, homeowners, and other volunteers already familiar with the Land Trust are invited to participate as hosts/hostesses.

RMCLT will be hosting a Parade Info Class on July 28, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Parade Home.  This class is mandatory for all RMCLT Parade Volunteers!  You will learn the duties of a Parade volunteer, incentives offered on RMCLT homes, the best way to greet guests, what questions will be asked of you, and where to find the answers.  A pizza dinner will be provided.  We would like to thank Jim Stiltner of Stiltner Realty and Master Bilt Homes for teaching the class and helping us with the project.

^{Description:  – BIG LANDSCAPING DAY!   (Need 25 people)
We will be amending soil, grading, installing sod, rock, and plantings for our Parade Home.}

^{Timeline:  Landscaping Day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and last until 3:00 p.m. We have five hours of work, one hour for lunch, and half an hour of preparation time to organize, do introductions and a safety debriefing for the volunteers. We are asking for volunteers for one day.}
