Community Collaborations

The Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust believes that collaboration is critical to providing the continuum of housing in our community. Our impact on our community grows with each year as we fulfill our core mission of home ownership and collaborate with other non-profit organizations in addressing transitional and affordable rental needs for our community.

We also partner with other organizations to provide services to our homeowners. Our goal is not to duplicate what other non-profit organizations can provide but rather to work with them in providing the support that is needed—seamlessly and cost effectively. The Land Trust has partnered with other non-profits (Partners In Housing and Greccio Housing) to create and preserve 37 transitional housing units and 94 affordable rentals to date!  Dale Street Townhouses, The Hill, Park Meadows Apartments, Partners’ Corner, the Colorado House and Resource Center (shown below), Hathaway House, and Bentley Commons are examples of these community collaborations.

In September 2009, Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust collaborated in the purchase of the 24-unit Bentley Commons Apartments (shown below) with economic stimulus money from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP I).  This bank-owned property was built in 2006 and intended for sale as condominiums, but was never occupied.  While the housing units were finished by the developer, there were many things such as landscaping, lighting, fencing, and flatwork that remained undone at the time of their foreclosure.  Slightly more than half of the site remains vacant land which we anticipate developing into additional affordable housing when the economy allows.  All 24 finished units, 12 each in two buildings, are being used as low-income rentals!
