2011 Events
June 28 & 30,2011--McCoy Patio Cover
RMCLT volunteers spent a weekend helping a family fighting
cancer. Chemo and radiation treatments are causing sun sensitivity, so RMCLT
built a patio cover for the south-west facing patio. With the help of our volunteers we were able to help the family enjoy the outdoors!
Monday July 18,2011-- Woodmen Vistas Landscaping Day!
El Paso Corporation volunteers helped landscape
the yards of two brand-new, single family homes sold to
low-income families through our program. Our overall objective for
Landscaping Day was to ensure that our homeowners are able to successfully maintain the property they just purchased. We
understand that families we help are low-income
and do not have the funds available to landscape around a new home,
install a fence, or even install blinds. We provide our families a
complete
package when they purchase a home developed by the Land Trust.
Thank you El Paso Corporation!
Saturday July 23,2011-- Woodmen Vistas Landscaping Day!
Colorado Springs Utilities volunteers to
help us landscape
the yard of a brand-new, single family home that will be sold to
a low-income family through our program. This home was also featured in the 2011 Housing & Building Association's Parade of Homes!
Thank you Colorado Springs Utilities!
August 5-21, 2011-- Parade of Homes!
Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust was pleased to
be invited by Colorado Springs Housing and Building Association to
participate in the 2011 Parade of Homes.
The Parade of Homes is a great way to tour beautiful homes from our
area’s best builders. The homes showcase quality community design,
interior design, landscape design, home furnishings, and building
technology.
This year, we were proud to partner with Challenger Homes to build the RMCLT Parade Home in Woodmen Vistas. Additionally,
our neighbors, Keller Homes in Cumbre Vistas and Habitat for Humanity
in Woodmen Vistas, were also in this year’s Parade.
During the 2011 Parade of Homes:
- 28 volunteer shifts were
covered
- which equals 117
man-hours
- valued at over $1,750 of
donated time
- almost 3,000 visitors
toured our home (over 500 more than in 2010)
- more than 1,500 information
packets on Woodmen Vistas, RMCLT, and the Continuum of Housing were distributed
